Généralités sur la provenance

Mussel samples are collected at groynes and stored overnight in salt water for sediment removal before freezing (-20°C); flounder samples are collected by beam trawl fishing, with liver and muscle stored frozen (-20°C). Organotin methods are accredited under ISO17025, following strict QA/QC protocols (first-, second- and third-line controls, incl. ring tests). Monitoring is coordinated by RBINS and ILVO under the OSPAR Coordinated Environmental Monitoring Programme and the Water Framework Directive. Mussels (Mytilus edulis) hand-collected at groynes (Nieuwpoort, Oostende, Knokke); flounder (Platichthys flesus) caught by beam trawl. Derivatization with sodium ethylborate in an acidic water-methanol-hexane medium, hexane extraction, clean-up by GPC (Gel Permeation Chromatography), quantification by GC-MS.
